Mom of Shoes Does It Herself

Mom and Jane have decide that this summer they’re going to be DIYing a lot. I must admit that my heart skipped a beat, because I’m a DIY lover.

The first of Mom’s experiments is this super-duper chair, that matches perfectly with Jane’s prosti-barbie boots.

derp derp

Mom says this was a great and inexpensive DIY project.

“I bought this chair (…) for around $200.  I had it recovered in plain canvas for $100, then the amazing Sam fromStyleSwoon took the chair home and spray painted it with graffiti, then I put two coats of clear acrylic on it. (…) It was a great inexpensive DIY project …”

Ok… let me see if I get this. You payed $300 for a chair and then someone else painted it? The chair looks good, really, but what the fuck? How is this inexpensive or DIY?!

Shit, Mom of Shoes! First of all, ‘Inexpensive’ means cheap. $300 is NOT cheap, what’s wrong with you? And second, ‘DIY’ stands for ‘Do It Yourself’, not ‘Buy a chair, have other people doing 95% of the job so you don’t have to Do It Yourself’. Are you really this dumb?

The saddest thing is reading all the comments complementing Mom’s creativity and talent. Really people, WHY?!

Well, on the bright side, this is not as lame as Jane’s jacket…at least you can sit on the stupid chair.

if $300 to them is cheap, then I don’t know what is expensive to them. :\

i always find it kinda weird when people go on about their ~diy projects~ that consist solely of bought things. i could have had a bit more respect for this ugly chair if it had been something they had lying around their house, so they decided to make the most of it.

buying stuff to diy (especially expensive stuff like this!) seems so counter-productive to me.

Seriously, what do you have against her except that you’re jealous of her great virtues and personality?Did it ever occur to you that you’re really hurting innocent people continuously?
